After the drought comes the rain. Buckets of it. Floods of it. But RM knows that work goes on in the wet, just as it does in the dry. So we made our oilskins from the best oiled cotton available, that breathes to keep you dry. We gave them cargo pockets as big as saddlebags, and handwarmer pockets to keep you warm as well as dry. We made the collars high, so rain running off your hat won't run down your neck. And we made the capes very large, because Australian rain can be very wet. We made them full length and three-quarter length and we gave them a name: Droughtbreaker. Your little piece of dry in the big wet.

RM Williams Oilskin Re-proofer

Exposure to excessive heat will dry the fabric out. It is recommended oilskin garments are not stored folded as creasing can leach out the dressing, so causing leakage in later use.
When soiled in ordinary use, simply hose garment down. Never wash with soap or detergent, which will also leach out the waterproof dressing.
After several years of use, the coat may need rejuvenating with the R.M. Williams Re-Proofer
